The Lore of Lorewyn is a proper Super Nintendo–style JRPG that, behind its traditional appearance and gameplay, hides a story full of surprising plot twists where nothing is what it seems.
You play Tyrin, who finds himself in a medieval fantasy world and doesn't remember who is he, what he's doing there, and why he's in the trouble that's following him. Luckily he has Mia, an apprentice wizard devoted to helping him.
The game's development, which lasts some 20 hours, is very traditional. In other words, you advance linearly through the story while fighting in a series of random battles against tons of enemies. If you win these fights, as you usually do, you'll earn experience to level Tyrin up.
The higher your characters' levels, the more abilities they can use in combat. And these abilities will be absolutely necessary for beating the game's toughest enemies.
The Lore of Lorewyn is quite a long, fun, and different traditional RPG. Although its story looks standard at first, it conceals much more than it seems.
